In the light of the instructions, we will continue to broadcast IP TV, said the Minister of Information and Broadcasting Hasan Mahmud. The minister made the remarks while exchanging views with a delegation of the Broadcast Journalists Center at the Secretariat on Tuesday (October 5). He said, “IPTV News media is a reality of the whole world. We cannot be free from the reality of this new media. We also will not stay away. That must be as per necessity. It is not needed unnecessarily. Now I see the trend among many; everyone wants an IPTV license. It doesn't make sense.” The Minister further said, “We have already drafted an OTT policy. We will take that draft to the cabinet after further examination.” Dr. Hasan Mahmud said, "We have made a directive about IP TV." Because IP TV is not needed like mushrooms. And IP TV will not be able to serve the purposes of news. We are correcting the instructions – dos and don’ts. Meanwhile, a mobile court will be set up from Wednesday (October 6) to implement the cleanfeed of foreign channels, said the Information and Broadcasting Minister. State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murad Hasan and BJC President Rezwanul Haque Raja were among the top leaders who were present.
